New Building and Appointment Process Update

We are delighted to let our loyal patients know that from Monday 6th July 2020 our clinical appointments will be run out of our newly refurbished Building One, at our Burton Road City Centre site.

A COVID appropriate queuing system has been set up with socially distanced crosses for you to use. However, we are still having to abide by NHS and government regulations, so only patients with appointments or who have been specifically asked by a clinician to attend the premises will be able to gain access. Please do not just turn up without an appointment. You will also have to wear a face covering before entering the building and at all times when in the building.

You will notice that the Atrium can only be accessed via the car park. This is to allow a flow of foot traffic in one direction. Please do not park in the Disability Accessible parking spaces unless you have a disability. This queuing system is designed to protect all of our patients, but with our disabled patients as a main concern as most arrive by car or taxi.

We will be encouraging the use of hand sanitiser by patients, we have socially distanced chairs in the reception plus the reception area and clinical rooms will be cleaned with appropriate cleaning products very regularly. Once you have left reception and visited the consulting room please do not return to reception. You will need to exit via the door by the stairs/lift. We have arrows to help remind you. Again this is to allow foot traffic in one direction.

All of these new systems are in place to protect patients and staff and allow the surgery to begin increasing the numbers of patients who can be seen face to face in consultations. We will still be using new technology where this can be used safely and appropriately, as feedback from many patients has been so positive. At the moment this is our new normal. The systems are new to all, so we would ask patients to bear with the reception team as they work hard to make the process work smoothly.

Finally, all of the staff from Horizon Healthcare pass on their best wishes during these difficult times and encourage you to take care and stay safe.
