Research at Horizon Healthcare

Helping Shape The Future Of Healthcare

Horizon Healthcare is proud to support NHS research.

Research studies help improve the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of illness. Many of the treatments and services used today are available because patients chose to take part in research.

By participating in research, patients have the opportunity to contribute to future healthcare improvements that may benefit people locally and across the NHS.

Why Do We Take Part In Research?

Taking part in research allows us to:

  • Support the development of new treatments and services
  • Improve patient care
  • Contribute to NHS innovation
  • Offer patients opportunities to become involved in healthcare research

Not all studies involve medication or treatment trials. Some may involve questionnaires, interviews, health monitoring or reviewing existing healthcare information.

Current Research Studies

Details of studies currently recruiting through Horizon Healthcare will be linked below and on a surgery notice board. Eligible patients may also be invited by SMS or email.

Who Can Take Part?

Each research study has its own eligibility criteria.

Eligibility may depend on factors such as:

  • Age
  • Medical conditions
  • Current treatment
  • Previous medical history

Taking part is always voluntary.
