Accessibility

Horizon Healthcare – City site

Our main centre has a car park with several reserved parking spaces for the people with disabilities, both temporary and lifelong. These are clearly marked and are located near the front door.

Most clinicians are located on the ground floor and there is a lift to the first floor if access is required.

Please make the patient coordinator aware you have mobility issues at the time, if booking by phone. Toilet facilities for patients with disabilities are available in the waiting rooms and are wheelchair accessible.

Horizon Healthcare Mackworth – Humbleton Drive

All patient services are delivered at ground floor level and consulting rooms are accessible. The entrance has a fully mechanised front door, a wheelchair accessible reception desk and a fully accessible toilet.

Parking

Our Horizon Healthcare City site has 17 patient parking spaces, including two spaces reserved for patients with disabilities, as well as a bicycle park.

The car park is for patients attending the surgery only and is now managed by NCP. A maximum stay of 90 minutes applies. This is intended to cover the duration of a standard appointment, including reasonable waiting time.

We cannot guarantee a parking space, and spaces remain available on a first come, first served basis. If the car park is full, there are alternative options nearby, including public car parks, roadside metered bays and free on-street parking. Please allow sufficient time before your appointment to park and arrive, as late arrival may mean you cannot be seen.

Patients may park briefly to collect or drop off items such as specimen pots, samples, prescriptions or paperwork.

We understand that delays can sometimes occur which are outside of a patient’s control, such as clinics running late or patients requiring urgent additional care. In these circumstances, you will not be penalised. We are able to review attendance and appointment times where required. If you believe you may exceed the time limit for a valid reason, please inform reception with your vehicle registration.

Please do not park in spaces marked ‘doctors only’ or in disabled bays without the appropriate entitlement. Vehicles parked incorrectly or without a valid reason for attendance may be subject to enforcement.

Please park considerately within marked bays and do not block access routes, as emergency vehicles may need to attend at short notice.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us keep parking available for patients who need it.
