Important Update: Changes to Swiftqueue Blood Test Booking from 1 July 2026

From 1 July 2026, there will be a change to how patients sign in to the Swiftqueue system to book blood test appointments.

What is changing?

All patients using Swiftqueue will now be required to sign in using an NHS login.

If you already have an NHS login

There is no change to the way you book your appointments. Simply continue to sign in using your NHS login details and manage your appointments as normal.

If you do not have an NHS login

A new, simplified registration process will allow you to create an NHS login and book an appointment online without needing to upload photo identification.

Once you have booked an appointment, you will still be able to:

  • View your appointment details
  • Cancel appointments
  • Rearrange appointments

through the Swiftqueue patient portal.

Booking appointments for family members

Patients can still add family members to their Swiftqueue account and book appointments on their behalf, including children and relatives they support.

Need help booking?

If you are unable to book online, the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB) telephone booking service remains available:

Telephone: 01332 789309
Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 11:00am to 1:00pm

Have patients been informed?

Swiftqueue has been contacting patients directly about this change since May 2026 and has emailed patients with appointments from 1 July 2026 onwards who have not yet linked their NHS login.

If you need further information about booking blood tests, please contact the practice or visit the Swiftqueue website.

This change has been introduced by University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust and affects all patients using Swiftqueue to book blood test appointments.
