Mackworth Surgery will be temporarily closed from Tuesday 11 August to Friday 14 August 2026 due to the forecast extreme temperatures.
Temperatures are expected to exceed 30°C, and we have concerns about the temperature within the Mackworth building. This temporary closure is a precautionary health and safety measure to protect the safety and wellbeing of our patients and staff.
What does this mean for patients?
The main practice site at Burton Road remains open and you can continue to contact us as normal.

If you normally attend our Mackworth branch site, you will still be able to access the care you need.
Where an appointment or face-to-face assessment is required, patients can be seen at our Burton Road site, and our team will advise you of the arrangements.
If you already have an appointment booked at Mackworth, please wait for our team to contact you with details of where your appointment will take place.
Please do not attend the Mackworth branch site unless you have been specifically advised to do so.
Our Burton Road site will remain open as normal.
We are continuing to work towards finding a suitable air-conditioning solution for the Mackworth branch site, so that we can provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff during future periods of high temperatures.
