Drugs and alcohol support

If you are concerned about your own or someone else’s drug or alcohol use, support is available.

You do not need to see a GP to access these services.


Local support (Cranstoun)

We work closely with Cranstoun, who provide drug and alcohol support services.

You can refer yourself directly for support without needing an appointment.

They can help with:

  • Advice and support
  • Reducing or stopping substance use
  • One-to-one and group support
  • Support for families and carers

Support for young people (under 19)

Specialist support is available for children and young people under 19.

Change Grow Live (CGL) provides free and confidential support for young people affected by drug or alcohol use.

Support for patients living outside Derby City

If you live outside Derby City, drug and alcohol services are provided by Derbyshire County services.

You can access support directly without needing a GP referral. Please search online for “Derbyshire drug and alcohol support” to find the most appropriate service for your area.
