If you are seeking an ADHD or ASD assessment, you can now choose to be referred to an NHS-approved provider through the Right to Choose pathway. This gives you the option to select your preferred provider, rather than being referred through the standard NHS pathway.
You must still be referred by your GP, but you choose the provider.
Important Information:
Your GP cannot choose a provider for you. Please follow these steps:
- Find a provider that offers ADHD and/or ASD assessments for your age group.
Check their website for eligibility and service details.
- Make sure the provider offers both assessment and treatment, including shared care and annual reviews.
If the provider only offers assessment and you need medication afterwards, you will need a second referral to another Right to Choose provider who does offer treatment. Please note there is currently no local ADHD service in Derby.
- Complete any forms or questionnaires required by the provider.
- Return the completed forms to the practice.
Next Steps
After returning the completed forms:
- You will need to book an appointment with our mental health team who will review the information and submit a referral request to our secretarial team, who will then process the referral to your chosen provider.
